Shepherd's pie

Ingredients
  

Filing

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 cups veggies (peas, corn, mushrooms, zucchini, green beans, etc)
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 T tomato paste
  • ¼ cup broth
  • ½ T rosemary
  • ½ T thyme
  • ½ T parsley

Mashed Potatoes

  • 2-3 lbs potatoes
  • 3 T butter
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

Filling

  • Saute diced onion and minced garlic until translucent
  • Add ground beef and brown
  • Add remaining ingredients and mix together
  • Cook for 5 minutes
  • Place mixture in the bottom of a baking dish

Mashed Potatoes

  • Boil potatoes in salted water until soft
  • Drain water
  • Put potatoes back into pot
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and mash potatoes
  • Layer potatoes on top of the meat mixture in the baking pan
  • Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees
